Week 4

Phobia
Outsider Art Club, session 104

This week saw the biggest growth in club members, and some terrific submissions as well. It seems like we're raising the bar a bit, as more and more members are posting finished and colored pieces. Things are getting even more awesome around here!

You might have noticed that this week's theme is being announced on Saturday rather than Friday: no I didn't forget to post it! :) This week's theme submitter, Marshall Bock, requested along with several others, that we postpone the announcement by a day. So we're trying it out. Anytime someone in the club has a suggestion, definitely e-mail me at jointheclub@oddernod.com, and we'll see if we can put it into action.

So, without further hesitation, here's this week's theme, presented by Marshall Bock:

Phobia

I got the idea while flipping through Bob’s sketchbook and I came upon his Peanut Butter Phobia (“Get it off! Get it off! Get it off!”) piece. Here’s a link to a comprehensive list of phobias to include with the post for anyone who can’t think of one or doesn’t want to do an obvious one like spiders or heights:

Phobia List

There’s some pretty crazy things to be afraid of in there.

Next week's theme will be brought to you by the scintillating Scott Hammond.

You still here? What are you waiting for? Get to drawing!

Seems as if the link to the phobia list is broken. Until Ryan fixes it, you'll just have to copy and paste it into your address bar. Apologies.

This is a super fun topic. Considering that list, there's a million different directions we could go. Nice pick Marshall.

Yes yes! This is a great idea. There is some super silly things they've documented as phobias. Nice choice!
