This week I pictured the image of something real, followed up by the image of the creative world going on in the mind of the child. My idea went through some painful phases - and here is the result. I wanted each image to be equally as fun, because playing with the stuff that isn't what you see in your head can be just as compelling as the imaginary creation.

Wow! David W Pryor this is STUPENDOUS... I love it... Real fun. I love the transformed objects as well, you really used the shapes nicely...
a box of cereal and a bowl = R2. And that Chewie rocks! It's all so charming...
nice job
Oh, and you got me... Is this digital? If so that canvas texture is fooling the heck outta me...
I agree. This one is really charming Dave! Lots of stuff to look back and notice the second time around. That texture is really nice too.
I'm in love with this picture. You've exhibited a stunning imagination and made the color pink cool. Hats off to you, sir...
I especially like the boys face and how the linework turned out with the texture. Chewie's got a great design with his hair all parted nicely.
I guess you're right - Gonk is best represented by a box of cereal.
Very cool, Im a big chewie fan and love this take on him!

Oh - I forgot, I like the extreme shape of the couch too. And I had a similar idea but I didn't want to do twice the work :)
Really nice. It would be great if you merged the 2 in a final peice.
Great texture, Dave. Did you do this Painter?
Great character designs. They're so whacked out and flattened, but immediately recognizable. Beautiful work, man.
i agree as well, great style and colors.
Another beautiful piece; great technique throughout. You definitely succeeded in making both pieces fun!
I am diasppointed that Dengar did not make an appearance - a roll of toilet paper, perhaps? ;)
Kurt, I LOL at that Dengar comment!
Thanks
Where can I pick up a Chewie? Nice stuff Dave. That's some imagination you have there. :)
What a dynamic and fun style! This is amazingly conceptualized and executed.
Beauty Mr. P!
