I say, make the jar full of other kids' teeth. He's trying to decide which one will replace his own. :)
I like the nighttime approach here. How will we be seeing what's in his imagination? Guess I'll have to wait!

I dig the colors too. In scenes where I should be more concerned with a mood I always shy away from changing the character's skin color. Here your purples are perfectly appropriate.
And are those perspective lines I see? You over-achieving bastard. I hope you're welcome here... ;)
