Tap Dancing Animals Stalking their Prey

Started this one late - but here it is. Brad drew up this idea on a Napkin 2 weeks ago, and his doodle contained a lion in tap shoes walking up to some kind of 4 legged animal. The idea itself was very cute, and the thought of seeing these animals putting on a performance stuck in my brain. I just tried to add a little joke in there.

Fabulous Dave! Especially for something so fast. The "no line" look works so well with these cut-out looking animals. I especially like the slices taken out of the lion's mane.

Those hooves leading offstage are just visible enough to know something has gone horribly, horribly wrong.

very awesome!! I love the design, the legs and puddle of blood off to the side are a nice touch!

I made an adjustment to this piece. The boxy stage lights were a good idea at the time - but in hindsight I felt they fought with the shape of the hats. I refined this with some curvy stage detailing instead. You can see the changes on my blog.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I like the small hint of the dead zebra off screen. Very simple but fabulous.
